cross table tennis club was formed in june 2009 by edward ditchburn and mary waldron.{cross national school principle } the club came about as a result of mary waldron putting a girls team in the community games for cross/cong. edward ditchburn began coaching the girls which consisted of nicola o'haire orla o'malley olivia coen and aoife o'sullivan. as the girls progressed and won the under 13s mayo event and moved on to the connaught championships, where against the odds they came out on top as the new connaught champions. they ventured off to athlone for the all ireland and after some brave performances came away with the bronze medal. as a result of these performances mary and edward decided to open a table tennis club in the hall next to the school. the club now has over 35 members and continues to grow. they now have a couple of teams in the mayo junior leagues

 WHO AFTER THE FIRST THREE ROUNDS ARE TOP OF THE GIRLS LEAGUE WINNING THREE OUT OF THREE MATCHES ON THE FIRST DAY

 IN ROUND 1 THEY BEAT THE CHEEKY MONKEY'S FROM KILKELLY BY FOUR GAMES TO TWO WITH EMMA WINNING BOTH HER MATCHES AND BOTH JESSICA AND VANESSA WINNING ONE APIECE.

ROUND TWO SAW THEM BATTLE AGAINST SYLANE TIGERS FROM TUAM GALWAY THIS TIME BOTH VANESSA AND JESSICA WON THEIR TWO MATCHES AND EMMA WON ONE OF HER'S TAKING THE MATCH BY FIVE GAMES TO ONE.

THIS PUT THEM IN POLE POSITION AFTER TWO ROUNDS AND IN ROUND THREE THEY SWEPT PAST THE GLAMOUR GIRLS BY A SCORE OF SIX GAMES TO NIL.

WITH EVERYONE WINNING BOTH THEIR MATCHES.

ON TOP OF THAT THEY ALSO RECIEVED THE AWARD FOR THE BEST GIRLS TEAM ON THE DAY.

SO WELL DONE THE GIRLS KEEP IT UP.
